Singapore Sends Envoy Attends Conference of Palestinians in Japan

Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and internal affairs Masagos Zulkifli, along with some officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the Conference on Cooperation Between East Asian countries for Palestinian Development.

The Conference took place on February 13 – 14, 2013, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

During the Conference, Masagos will provide technical assistance to newer efforts Singapore increased the capacity of the Palestinian Authority.

He is also scheduled to make a visit to the Prime Minister of Palestinian National Authority, Salam Fayyad, who became Chairman of the Joint Conference with the Government of Japan.

The Ministers from South Korea and some other countries, including Brunei Darussalam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam will also attend the Conference.

They gathered to discuss ways of effective cooperation to help build peace in the Middle East.
