U.S.-based cybersecurity company N-able Inc. plans to expand its workforce in India by at least 50% by the end of 2026 as it seeks to tap into the country’s growing pool of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity talent, Chief Executive John Pagliuca told Reuters.
The company, which provides IT management, cybersecurity and data protection software to more than 500,000 organizations worldwide, inaugurated a Global Capability Center in Bengaluru on Monday. The facility currently employs more than 100 staff and is expected to serve as a key development hub for its global operations.
The expansion comes as India’s Global Capability Center ecosystem continues to grow rapidly, driven in part by rising demand for AI and cybersecurity expertise. According to a report by industry group Nasscom and consultancy Zinnov, the GCC workforce in India is projected to reach 2.36 million employees by the end of 2026.
Speaking to Reuters, Pagliuca said the decision to base expansion in Bengaluru was driven primarily by capability rather than cost considerations. “Our priority is to build for the long term, with the right people and a strong foundation, not to pursue a short-term headcount play,” he said.
He added that while Bengaluru remains India’s leading technology hub, competition for skilled professionals in AI and cybersecurity is intense, with global and domestic firms competing for the same talent pool.
Pagliuca said some of the most difficult roles to fill include AI engineering, applied machine learning, cloud security and threat research. To attract talent, the company is offering competitive compensation packages and emphasizing opportunities to contribute to global product development while building local career pathways.
The Bengaluru center will also play a central role in strengthening N-able’s cybersecurity capabilities as threats evolve. Pagliuca said cybercriminals are increasingly using generative AI to automate and scale attacks, prompting greater demand for defensive technologies such as automated threat detection, monitoring and faster response systems.
N-able did not disclose its current market share in India or provide specific revenue targets for the region.
