The France national football team secured a 3-1 victory over the Colombia national football team in an international friendly at Northwest Stadium, Maryland, on Sunday local time.

France’s win was driven by a standout performance from Desire Doue, who scored twice, while Marcus Thuram added another goal. Colombia pulled one back through Jaminton Campaz.

The result marked France’s second consecutive victory during their international break tour in the United States, following a 2-1 win over Brazil in their previous outing.

Both teams began the match with attacking intent, but clear chances were initially limited.

Colombia came close through James Rodriguez, whose long-range effort was denied by French goalkeeper Brice Samba.

France broke the deadlock in the 29th minute when Doue found the net to give his side a 1-0 lead.

The momentum continued for France as Thuram doubled the advantage in the 41st minute, heading in a cross from Maghnes Akliouche.

Doue nearly added a second before halftime, but his attempt was saved by Colombia’s goalkeeper Alvaro Montero.

France extended their lead early in the second half. In the 56th minute, Doue completed his brace after finishing a pass from Thuram, making it 3-0.

Colombia continued to press despite the deficit, with Jhon Cordoba testing Samba, who remained solid in goal.
