Veda Ega Pratama expressed confidence ahead of the Moto3 race at the Circuit of the Americas, United States, following a consistent showing in pre-race sessions.

The young Indonesian rider is set to start from fourth position after delivering another solid qualifying performance in his debut Moto3 season.

Strong qualifying secures second-row start

Veda recorded a time of 2 minutes 12.813 seconds in Qualifying 2, securing a place on the second row for the third consecutive race.

His lap time placed him 0.706 seconds behind pole-sitter Alvaro Carpe, who is also a familiar rival from the Red Bull Rookies Cup circuit.

“The results were quite positive. I was able to maintain a strong position throughout the sessions, and I feel confident for the race,” Veda said in an interview.

Continuous improvement remains focus

Despite the encouraging result, Veda emphasized the importance of further evaluation with his team.

He noted that discussions would continue after qualifying to address areas that still require improvement before the race.

“There are still several aspects we need to finalize in preparation for the race,” said the rider from Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta.

Targeting another historic podium

Veda enters the race aiming to replicate his recent success in Brazil, where he secured his first Moto3 podium.

That result also marked a milestone, as he became the first Indonesian rider to finish on the podium in a Grand Prix event.

In Brazil, he finished third behind Maximo Quiles and Marco Morelli, both representing the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar team.

“Hopefully, I can deliver the best result possible and repeat or even improve on what I achieved in Brazil,” Veda said.

Championship standings and race outlook

Heading into the United States round, Veda sits third in the Moto3 standings with 27 points, following a fifth-place finish and a podium in the opening two races.

He trails championship leader Quiles by 18 points, highlighting the competitive nature of the early-season battle.

The 14-lap Moto3 race at COTA is scheduled to take place on March 30 at 12:00 a.m. WIB.

Rising Indonesian talent on global stage

Veda’s consistent performances underline his growing presence in the Moto3 field, as he continues to adapt to the demands of Grand Prix racing.

With confidence building and momentum on his side, the upcoming race presents another opportunity for the young rider to strengthen his position in the standings and further establish himself as one of Indonesia’s most promising motorsport talents.
