Iran launches attacks across Gulf following latest U.S. strikes

Iran's armed forces said they had struck 85 U.S. military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait, while Washington said its attacks were a response to what it described as Iranian strikes on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said Wednesday it had struck 85 U.S. military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait in retaliation for earlier U.S. strikes in southern Iran.

The Guard Corps also said Iranian forces shot down a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone during the operation, according to a statement carried by state media. It made no mention of Tuesday’s attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, for which Tehran has not claimed responsibility.
